Suppose a ripe mango is falling down from the tree. Explain whether its
velocity will change or not?
When a mango falls down from a tree its velocity will change.
When the mango was in the tree its velocity was zero. When the mango starts to
fall from the tree its velocity starts to increase. The reason is when the
mango starts to fall the acceleration due to gravity works on it. So the
velocity of the mango increases by 9.81 ms-1 per second and the
velocity will increase every second until the mango touches the ground. After
falling to the ground the velocity will be zero again.
