Blood is a fluid connective tissue. Blood is called connective tissue because like all other connective tissues the amount of plasma is more in blood and the amount of cells is less. Other connective tissues and blood originate from the same layer of the embryo. Blood keeps the connection between different parts of the body by transporting different substances through the arteries, veins, and capillaries. For all these reasons blood is a kind of connective tissue.
